I chose to create the envirobox brief because I very much liked the types of adverts given in the brief and I also enjoy the idea of the product itself in comparison to the other briefs I was presented with.

A similar advert to the one I am thinking of, shown to the left, of a lunch box advert. I think this advert is effective as it shows people enjoying their product as well as listing features of the product which I also plan to entail. I think it's good that the advert involves people using and enjoying the product because it makes it easier for the audience to remember it and envision themselves using it. I also think it's good that they combine it with real information about the product and it's uses as it effectively persuades the audience to buy the product. I also like that the advert talks about their lunchbox eliminating waste which I think is a good way of making the design seem more economically and ecologically viable than other products. The advert also talks about durability and it's products ability to withstand different temperatures. I think this is effective and similar to what I want to include in my advert as it lets the customer know that they're not throwing away their money and that they are actually being given a product that will last them for time. I want to do this in my own advert by letting the audience know how long the envirobox will last even after a long period of use.

The advert on the left is an advert for ecofriendly cutlery. The advert is attempting to put across the fact that the cutlery doesn't harm the environment and in fact is good for it. It does this quiet effectively by including a lot of colours which have connotations with nature. These include green, blue and brown. I also like the large image which shows a piece of the earth which is meant to be a cake. I think this is effective because it is eye catching and puts the products main selling point across that it's eco friendly. I would develop the advert by making the brand of the cutlery more prominent as it appears to be just normal cutlery which isn't likely to be remembered by the consumer. I think a larger logo or a longer bit of text about the brand would vastly improve its memorability. I will take inspiration from this advert as I plan to use a single large image with various components to represent ecofriendliness however I will make my advert more branded so and advertorial so that the brand has more exposure and is more memorable.

My product will be targeted at people aged 10-35 because my product is meant to convince them to stop using their lunchbox and buy the envirobox and this age is usually the people who use lunch boxes on a day to day basis whether its as school or at work. To accomplish this I will make that sure that my advert is tailored to all ages by being both fun and professional so that it attracts parents, children and ordinary people. In terms of social class I will be aiming it at the ABC1 demographics as they tend to be more likely to be educated and therefor on average more concerned about the environment. It is targeted at both genders as it will include a unisex design as well as two different colours to choose from too.
During my advertising campaign I will be fully focussed on including colours which connote ecofriendliness and the environment. These colours include, but are not limited to, green, blue, brown. In my advertising campaign I want to persuade and inform. I will do this by making the envirobox appear to be trendy and well designed whilst also enough information to inform the audience about it's benefits over standard plastic lunch boxes.

Moodboard.
Below is a moodboard of the colours, ideas and aesthetic themes and values which I would like to incorporate into my advertising campaign.
Mindmap
Below is a mind map of ideas for what my advertising campaign will incorporate into the audio visual and printed adverts.
Gantt Chart
Below is gantt chart tracking my milestones for the project and when I plan to have them started and completed.
Flat plan of the flyer
I have gone for a clean looking and minimalistic design for my flyer as I think it reflects well on the clean message of the envirobox. I want to include a large logo and image to make it appealing to a wide audience as well as to build brand awareness. The flyer will include a limited amount of text to keep the consumer interested whilst giving the consumer enough information to persuade them to purchase the product.
Pitch
Below is a video of me pitching my advertising campaign, I was given feedback at the end which I had to improve upon.
After listening to feedback I received I can conclude on the point which I should improve on in my pitch and these are as follows:
- Add a moodboard of what the adverts might look like
- Talk about different ways to appeal to audiences
- Include more about the charity
- Moodboard with slogans
- Make it even more visual
P3
I have included and advert below which I made my own version of in order to research about the conventions of printed advertising. From what I found, the main conventions were: Large logo or brand name, large image of product, model looking at the camera, dark background with highlights in the foreground. I was recreating the advert and I realised I had to consider that the body language of the model is important and there for I decided to keep the models body and instead change the face to be looking at the camera also. The body language is important because you want the audience to feel welcome and invited to buy the product so the body language has to be open and welcoming.
I used photoshop to create this advert mainly because it is what I've always used for any work like this and I'm comfortable with it. I also used it over anything else because it is made specifically for manipulating images and it is very advanced and proficient in doing so. It has a wide array of tools which allow for anything to be done with the image, the only limitation when using photoshop is your own imagination.
Another programme I could've used is Adobe Illustrator as it uses vector layers which is good for making logos and printing things on billboards or showing them on the big screen because they aren't influenced by the sizing of the picture and they don't use pixels so no matter at what size you print it, it will always look sharp.

Risk assessment
Below I have included my risk assessment.
Script
Below is my script for the audio-visual piece of advertisement.
Location Recce
Below is my location recce in my only filming location.
I chose to film my advert in the media studio as it provides a perfect environment in which I can control the lighting and scenery for all of my shots. There is also a lot of space for my to set up my equipment such as floor lights and my camera tripod. There are also already pre installed ceiling lights which I can use to achieve the perfect lighting. It's very easy for me to gain access to it as all I need to
|
is to ask my teacher who is in control of the studio whether I can use it and I have already received permission to do so. The only hazards there are the wires and electrical appliances which can be broken if any liquid is spilt on them. To minimise the risk I will verbally warn my crew about these hazards and I will tape the wires down and ban any liquids from entering the studio. There is also a toilet outside the studio as well as a water fountain so my actors and crew will have a suitable and a comfortable place to work in. There are also black and green coloured curtains surrounding the walls of the studio which allow me to have a nice and clean background for my shots in order to my make my video look more professional and to not distract the audience from the subject in the video.
