Offline Edit
Below I have attached screenshots of my editing process.
Above, the image on the left shows the first few shots in my short film. You may notice that the audio in some of the clips is muted. I've done this as later on I planned to add music to these scenes and I didn't want to have the audio from those clips included into the finished product. I did this by dragging the line that goes under the clip all the way down which reduces the sound of the clip. The clips have also been cut and trimmed. I have included a set of the tools I have used in the screenshot above on the right. This screen shot shows a variety of tools that I used. The main tool that I used is the highlighted blade tool which lets me cut the clips so I can rearrange portions of them or even remove them. I also used the trim tool which allowed me to shorten or lengthen certain clips.
Above I have attached a screenshot of my timeline from when I was editing. In this screenshot I have shown the music that I have added into my video. I put it partly under the clips which I have muted so that there is some sound when they are being shown. I think that music is an effective way of providing continuity between the shots. By doing this the overall quality of the video was increased and therefore the audience was able to become more engaged in it. After adding the music and cutting the clips all together I was left with my finished video which was only missing effects.
